Cape Brett Tramping Track – Length: 20km Time: 8 hours
The Cape Brett Walk is spectacular and requires a reasonable degree of fitness.
Cape Brett track is 26 km northeast of Russell, and can be accessed by land or sea. Constructed to “boot” standard.
Distance and time: 20 km / 8 hours. This challenging tramping track requires a high degree of fitness and experience, but you will be rewarded by spectacular coastal views.
Paihia to Waitangi Walk - 45 - 60 minutes one way
A coastal walk featuring beaches, rocky headlands, cliff-top views over the Bay and abundant birdlife. Follow the broad sweep of Te Ti Beach past Te Ti Marae then follow the shoreline past the Treaty House and skirting the Waitangi Golf Club.
Paihia to Opua 5.8 km – 3 hours one way
A pretty, well-maintained coastal track from Paihia to the car ferry at Opua, offering beautiful views of the bay, sea birds and a passing vista of sea craft. In summer you may like to take a picnic lunch and enjoy a swim on the way. You can organise return transport by taxi or tuk tuk.
Paihia Viewpoint 1.5Km 1 hour return
This is a pleasant walk through regenerating native forest to a view point overlooking the bay.
