Russell Birdman Festival
Three days of wacky fun to be had by kids and grown ups - Friday to Sunday, with the Birdman contest being on Saturday. There are plenty of prizes to be won as we have 11 events for all ages! There are individual and team events - so if you don’t want to do it by yourself, grab your friends, family and workmates! As much as we talk about competitiveness, the Birdman Festival is all about fun, and is a true spectator sport.Catch “it!” Seafood Tournament
Catch “it” will encompass scuba diving, free diving, spear fishing, and fishing - including boat and surfcasting which means anyone can participate from those with the super launches, to the line off the wharf and the trusty surfcaster on the beach at Waitangi. “it” Bay of Islands Food and Wine Festival
For the third year Paihia is holding the succesful 'it' Bay of Islands Food and Wine Festival - "it" is the event not to be missed - Love it! Cook it! Drink it! Bite it! Sing it! This is it!! A successful recipe of fantastic food, wine, entertainment and friendly locals all mixed up together in the Bay of Islands. The Paihia Christmas Parade which is organized by Business Paihia once again had amazing floats in the theme ‘Rivers of the World’, we had the Queen on the Thames, Cleopatra on the Nile, The Zambezi, Taniwha’s and dolphins, and of course the Waitangi River.

Paihia Summer Festival praised by visitors
The Paihia Summer Festival once again got sunshine and clear skies. There was a great turn out of participants and spectators at the events and really positive feedback from all attending. The festival is free and has many locals attending year after year, but it also has many tourists and visitors to the area attending each day. Some families that are visiting for a week in the Bay of Islands will attend each day and all of them just think it is wonderful that Business Paihia organizes these events.
