BOIUC Poor Knights Dive
BOIUC Club DIve
A social/recreational club for local divers to enjoy the fabulous diving in the Bay and around Northland. Most members are scuba divers, a few just snorkel.
Regular evening meetings first Thursday each month (alternating Paihia/Kerikeri) to plan club dive trips. One local dive each month and an average of one further afield (Poor Knights, Cavallis etc) every two months – fish watching, photography, wreck diving, crayfish, scallops… About 20% of members have boats, there is always room for everyone who wants to go. Passengers contribute to fuel costs. As well as club dives, members become part of a network of divers who can arrange dives together whenever they feel like it.
The club also organises the annual Russell to Paihia snorkel/scuba race (2008 is the 26th event), which attracts teams from around Northland and Auckland for competition, social gathering and charity fund raising.
Annual subscription $25 includes affiliation to NZ Underwater Association
